I am commonly asked how I endure such long distances.  Well, I think about Jesus surviving 40 days in the desert with no food, no drink, and Satan relentlessly tempting him with surrender, yet Christ never gave in.  I think about my granddaddy’s WWII dog tags hanging around my neck; there are two of them: the ultimate symbol of wartime survival.  And I think about my grandmother’s last pair of walking shoes: symbolic of her zest for life, her walk with Jesus Christ and her refusal to ever accept defeat.

Brad finished 2nd in the 50 mile in around 7:53, after not having run
since Hinson Lake. It will likely be another couple weeks before he
runs again....stupid knee. Thanks for thinking about me!
