Boogie registration opened today. There are a few changes so read the
info. Last year finisher mugs were optional. It was a bit too
complicated keeping up with who got one and who did not at the finish
line, so this year mugs are not optional. All finishers will get a
mug. Shirts are still optional. They have been changed to a black
singlet. The design is the same but is smaller so the breathability
will be better.

All of my Boogie mugs are proudly displayed in our dining room china cabinet.  I've already made room for #9!

My reflections:
updated 8/30/2009

I endure long distances by thinking about Jesus surviving 40 days in the desert with no food and Satan relentlessly tempting him with surrender, yet Christ never gave in.  I think about my granddaddy’s WWII dog tags hanging around my neck; there are two of them: the ultimate symbol of wartime survival.  And I think about my grandmother’s last pair of walking shoes: symbolic of her zest for life, her walk with Christ and her refusal to ever accept defeat.

I have a question about the course description.  It says

Five repeats of a 6-mile loop and a 4-mile out-and-back for the fifty miler.

Is that suppose to be seven repeats of the 6 mile loop?  Or is the 6 mile loop longer than 6 miles?

Sounds fun!

Each lap of the course course consists of one 6-mile loop and one 4-mile out-and-back, for a total of 10 miles each lap.

Hope this helps!

Oh, duh!  I was thinking the 4 mile out-and-back happened just once for a total of 8 miles, which left 42 miles (7 * 6 miles).

Thanks!
