Hi Roy,
You might want to take a look at this article by Joost de Valk
http://yoast.com/cornerstone-content-rank/ and the Brian Clark article he
links to.
Basically, if your existing page is already ranking for your
keyword/phrase, keep is but update the content and have it point to your
new pages (and have them point back to the 'hub').
