I think we get so used to tools that automatically turn something that
looks like a web address into a fully functioning link that we sometimes
forget there is a syntax that should be followed.
You can mark those 404's as resolved in Webmaster Tools -- I don't know if
it makes Google come back and cralw your site again, but I saw the option
has been introduced.
