Is anyone interested in continuing with MWUG?

Can I ask if there is any appetite amongst existing members to keep
the group going?

The response rate for this group is pretty low but it would be great
if people could find the time to respond - even if it is only to share
your thoughts on why you won't be attending in future.

I know there are any number of other geek activities vying for
everyone's attention in and around Manchester as well as numerous
channels available to find support and so on.

Best Wishes
Perry

I'd be interested in developing something.

There's a stronger 'bloggers' contingent in Leeds already - but it's very focussed on blogging as affiliate type thing - might be good to see if we could get both groups to work alongside each other, maybe.

Whatever the structure I'm very interested in talking to those working with Wordpress to do more than sell gadgets/holidays/fashion etc.

I have emailed Alan to volunteer to take over organisation of the group.

I would really like to see the group continue: I think WordPress is a
great tool/framework, and I think having a pool of knowledgable
people; for learning, community, networking, etc. in the Manchester
area is good thing.

Also I too think the Leeds group is not technical/geeky enough for
me. And it's too far away for me to attend regularly.

I can't promise to be as on the ball as Alan used to be, but with help
from people within the group, I hope we can continue.

So, with that in mind, could we manage to squeeze in a meeting for June?

Perhaps Monday 29th? I expect next week is too short notice for most
people (I know I'm busy the first half of the week).

Probably an informal one in a pub/coffee house (assuming it's too late
to get MDDA), to talk about what we want to do with the group, work
out an agenda for a July meeting, etc.

Suggestions for venue welcome.

I guess this isn't going to happen now -- I've seen no responses.

Let's plan for July.

WordCamp UK is in Cardiff the weekend of 18/19th. How about a meeting
the following week? That would be the week commencing 20th July,
Perhaps Wednesday or Thursday of that week.

One of the agenda items could be one's impressions of the event for
those who attended, and/or summary of the best bits for those who
didn't attend.

Thoughts?

Hi Mike,

Sorry for not responding before - the Monday wasn't any good for me. I'm busy the w/c 20th July too.

No worries, Perry.
I'll wait for some more responses and between us we'll come up with a
date that suites enough of us to make it viable.

Sorry for the late post. Wednesday's are generally a good day for me
and sometime in July sounds good.

sorry for the late reply. I'm interested in keeping the group going -
only just signed up

Monday 29th would have been fine for meeting, but apart from several
Thursdays, some other time in July will be fine for me too

cheers

We've had some interest for the week after WordCamp (21st - 24th), but
nothing concrete yet.

Mike.
