On Thursday March 21st I'm going to be in Boston and would like to schedule an evening meetup near downtown. I should have an M2 with me. Please let me know some possible locations and if you are interested in meeting.

Thanks,
Rick

I'd like to go up but need to know for sure so I can come up with a blah blah blah for my boss.  I can't provide a place but location is unimportant to me,  I'll find it.

Friday or Saturday night are also probably fine but I may not be able to bring a printer.

Those are better for me, but I don't how it works for anyone else. I'm sure there are others who'd like to see an M2/pick your brain.  A question: can I mess with the "creator" software using my current (non MG) printer?  The video for it looks more than promising.

Thank you for posting that Dave! I'll be in Boston Thursday (3/21) night through Sunday night. I'll have an M2 Thursday evening and may have one the other nights but I'm not sure yet.

If you are planning to attend PAX East we'll be printing in booth 1030 with the awesome Artemis Bridge Simulation video game!

Tix for PAX East sold out.  I so wanted to enter the Katamari tourney too.

I can probably provide a place in Burlington, just need to clear it with my boss.

Just got the go-ahead! I can host at H3XL, 25 Adams Street, Burlington MA. Not downtown, but only about 10-15 minutes away, depending on where you're coming from.

What time would we want to meet?

Thank you Matt! Before we commit though we need to figure out how we'd get there. We are staying about 3 miles west of:

Boston Convention & Exhibition Center
415 Summer Street
Boston, MA 02210

How would we get out there? Is there a train? We will not have a vehicle.

I'm from NH, so I'm not the best person to ask. I'd check out the MBTA, or worst case a taxi might be doable. Other suggestions?

Is this for Thurs 3/21?

Yup, Thursday 3/21. The shop closes as 6 normally but we'll stay open much later for this. That is, of course, if Rick can figure out transportation. If not, we'll have to find another spot.

Thursday's probably out for me but I'm trying to score a pass to PAX East.  Also, if there's any meet up fri-sunday I'm in.

On a slightly different note, would anyone be interested in volunteering to help us in the booth? If so, let me know your availability.

Thanks,
Rick

I am available either Sat or Sun (Only one though).  I'd love to help out though I still have never seen an M2 in person.

Rereading that I may have sold myself short.  I've assisted at printing demos at the Boston Museum of Science and I regularly do demos alone at the Children's Museum in Fall River, MA.  These demos are fun and I can speak about 3D printing in general I just don't have experience with the M2 yet (about 5-6 weeks to go for mine to arrive).

I'm interested in helping out in the booth, I have plenty of product demo trade show experience.

So here's the latest - we have a venue, but everything rests on the ability of Rick to get there! Is anyone in his area and willing/able to carpool? He's staying about 3 miles west of the Boston Convention Center on Summer Street.

I can host at H3XL, 25 Adams Street, Burlington MA, roughly from 6 till whenever. It's pretty much right next to the Burlington Mall, so the seemingly easy routes include 93 to 128, 2A all the way, 2 to 128, 3A to 128, or 90 to 128.

Cross-posting on both the 3D Printing Boston and the MakerGear lists to get a rough head count and see if we can get Rick some transit!

Failing that, if anyone has a venue more accessible to Rick, speak up!

Guys - I'm sorry for the late post. Had to leave town unexpectedly for a couple of days (unrelated to makergear) and just got back. We will not be able to make it out to H3XL on Thursday. We will be in town through Sunday night - perhaps we can figure out a time/place for Sunday. The show ends on Sunday so we'll just need to pack then we'll be available.

Thank you,
Rick

Rick,

Hope all is well (with the unexpected issue), and I hope the show is going great.

If you have a chance, could you post some pictures?  I'd like to see who these people are who helping out and making MakerGear a hit at the show!

I helped out at the MakerGear booth today.  I had a blast.  Watching the M2 (for the first time) confirmed I made the right choice for my next printer.  Rick and Josh were very cool and though I'm really into gaming it went by so fast and was so much fun I never left the booth to see anything else.  Not that I had to because as I said to Josh, I felt (figuratively) like we were the prettiest girl in school; despite all the really cool stuff going on around us, the phrase I heard the most (both to me and amongst exhibit viewers) was: "This is the coolest thing here."

Thanks Rick and Josh.  Now get back to work on my printer!

Rick,

Thanks for the opportunity to check out MakerGear printers at PAX East on Sunday.
I own a MakerBot Thingomatic and an Ultimaker so I was excited to see MakerGear printers running and compare them.
I am very impressed; MakerGear printers have the most robust and reliable design/build available below $2,000.
The PLA parts built at the show were high quality, consistent and quick.
Im looking forward to seeing your Deltabot prototype in production!
