I have created a small 3d figurine of a person sitting with their feet in front of them (almost cross legged but not quite). The problem I am having is the point of contact of the butt and the feet is inadaquate for printing on my TOM without using full support material. I would like to make a small pedistal to place the figurine on so that the pedistal is on the HBP instead of the three narrow points of contact. The figurine would be sunk into the surface of the pedistal slightly to provide more material to build up from.
I have been able to create the pedistal block and place the figurine on it exactly how I want in both Autocad 123D and Hexigon. Trouble I am having is neither program is merging the pedistal with the figurine. Autocad 123D gives me only the pedistal when I open the STL in RepG and Hexigon gives me only the figurine.
Is there an easy way to merge the two components in any of the common PC based 3d programs ? Is Rep G capable of merging of two STL files for me?
