I've noticed mine doing it too.  It's very sporadic.  I'm printing over USB
and I think the data flow must bog down and the system pauses for the data
to catch up.  I haven't noticed any visual blobs like you're showing.  I
guess it depends on where in the print it happens...  Would printing from
SD make a difference - better of worse data transfer?
