Hi operators

so, like others, I am experiencing the HBP not turning off after the
build

but what's disturbing is that when i tried to turn off the HBP by
manually inserting or executing an M109 S0 code, the following
happens:

1. HBP is turned off, and turned on immediately after (I can hear my
relay flip)
2. Control panel shows that the temperature is holding at 120C, and
the desired temperature is 0; but...
3. The HBP does not turn off/on anymore to regulate its temperature
4. on checking with a thermometer, I realized that the HBP is heating
up beyond 130C

Would advise any with this problem to run the HBP manually via the
control panel for now, manually check the temperature and don't leave
your bot alone for too long after a build.

I'm having this same issue, any word on how to fix this?

My prints usually only take <20 mins and I have to goto the control
panel and type in 0 for the platform temp for the hbp to turn off so
luckily it doesn't get too warm but today i did a print that took a
lil longer and it was up to 131C...

Thanks for any input.

I was having a similar problems during and after prints while using the newest extruder firmware, I rolled back a version and it went away.

Just like with the extruder, if you don't have the line to turn it off
in your gcode, it won't turn off.

You can do this via the start and end text files (described on the
wiki) or by looking for your M104 S0 line at the end and putting one
like this after it:

M109 S0

Generally this is two or three lines before the end of the file.
