Waiting for review then :-) I am very curious about the modified stepstrudder performance and if machine will work well with only Makerbot's PLA special formula or whatever it made of.

Wish I had more time tonight but I just can't leave the box alone.
The packaging is light, tight and efficient. Despite a bit of exterior damage to the box. Everything inside was in perfect shape
Top tray includes a short spool of PLA, the spindle (appears same as Rep1) USB cable and User Manual. This is the same PLA they ship from the store which MB now draws in Brooklyn. I have been printing with it on a Rep1 for the last few months and have never returned to ABS on the Replicator.
The Rep2 is contained within a clever canvas bag which lifts easily out of the Box. It is very light.
Do Not lift the Rep out of the bag via the extruder cables - They ARE focusing on a different kind of Maker.
The acrylic build platform laser etched with MB logos will watermark the bottom of your model. or cover with Blue tape (included in handy build platform size sheets. No Kapton to enjoy.
The build platform and power brick are also packed in top tray
and voila: The Rep2 itself.
Sorry for the brevity - more later...

Isn't the build area on a 3D touch like 4x or 5x the size of a Rep2?JohnA.

ToM and Replicator1. Also have a 3D Touch and a couple of various RepRaps. My early impression is MB has made a real leap here, but I have not yet done my torture test prints yet.The system is extremely clean, no cables flopping around. The electronics are contained in a tray at the bottom which appears to be easily opened. I have not had time to check yet.It will be interesting to do a shoot out between Rep2 and the 3D Touch, which is 3D Systems Pro-sumer machine. It is big, very mechanically solid and quiet BUT doggedly slow. I think Rep2 just made it a boat anchor.

How long did the stretchlet take?

For those asking, I ordered the instant it became available. I think it is in the first 25 shipped. I have been very frustrated because I have had to travel these past two days and haven't had much time to print. However I did set it up. It took 10 minutes and was flawless. No more leveling headaches. The three point system is very tight and it leveled easily. The bolts are not likely to vibrate loose in this design.I printed the four four models included on the SD card, which include the Stretchlet, and nut and bolt. The machine is very fast, smooth and quiet. The frame is solid. all of the models printed in half the time that is quoted in the manual so Nut and Bolt suggested as a 55 minute print, was done in 21.
I have not been able to dive into MakerWare yet and print all of my calibration and test models. That is next. But here are a couple of pictures.
