I think that making the process easier is a good goal. Right now the process is a lot of manual steps:
- model in a tool (or download STL)
- generate STL
- open STL in ReplicatorG
- center/put on plate/rotate (fairly often)
- click generate gcode
- approve (or change) settings
- wait for Skeinforge
- preview gcode (not required, but a good idea)
- click generate print file
- pick location to write file (SD card) and filename
- wait for s3g to generate
- eject SD card from OS
- take SD card from computer to Replicator
- print from SD
- pick file
Clearly some steps could be automated, using defaults. For example, all of the RepG steps (open STL to writing s3g file to SD card) could be automated into one user action.
