Your 5V voltage regulator died. The motherboard is toast. Contact MBI support,
open a ticket, tell them what happened. They may need additional info, but
it sounds like they need to send you a new motherboard.

Yes, plenty of folks have had this happen to their Rep 1s. (It's a
different, more robust board in the Rep 2.) Contact MBI support.
If you look at the board near where the USB and power inlets are,
you may see the damaged 5V voltage regulator.

Your board has blown. Ask MakerBot for another. Take a picture of the
blown regulator and send that to them when you open a support ticket.

I've fried 2 so far.

The first one was due to the wires coming from the extruder fans shorting since MakerBot squeezes them between a screw.

The second one was from a static zap while my hand brushed aside the SD card slot (I have since made a cover for the slot).

Both times blew after turning it off when the problem first happened, then turning it back on.  There may be a trick to prevent a blown voltage regulator from a static zap by removing the SD card before turning on the MakerBot again.  We zapped one makerbot causing the screen to distort (this happened to one we blew too).  But after reading about how the very first revision would blow if you had a SD card inserted when you turn on the replicator, we decided to remove ours before turning it back on.  It has been working fine ever since.

MakerBot is geat about replacing the boards.  In both cases they gave me one for free and shipped it out right away.

MAKE SURE TO LABEL EACH AND EVERY WIRE.  You can do serious physical damage to your Replicator if you put any of the wires on incorrectly.  Take pictures, buy labels, and label each one.  It may be a pain, but it will pay off.

I received a board and a wire. Is the voltage regulator part of the board? Or did makerbot forget to send me the voltage regulator? Thanks.

It's part of the board.

It is the chip sort of near the upper middle I think that has 3 leads.
It should look like half a chip as it is blown. I wonder what happens
to the little pieces that expload off as I did not see them. You will
need a bunch of small nylon ties to put that x end stop wire in. Make
sure you can move the axis with out it getting tight an
breaking/jamming when you put it in. Take pictures and place labels on
wires and do what I did perhaps replace the motherboard by hooking as
many wires up to the new one before taking the old one out. By the way
those little black things that hold the motherboard in, release the
motherboard if you simply center the inner piece of plastic in each
one wiuth a little screwdriver.

Usually 1 to 2 days from my experience. There is a phone number
somewhere in your packet.
