Hey All -

I've got a TOM Mk7 with the latest version of the Jetty firmware (3.4) and just built a Gen4 Interface LCD but can't seem to
get it to work right - when I power the 'bot up, the screen comes on with lines 1 and 3 filled with blocks, the Power LED
blinks at about .5Hz, and the Debug LED blinks at about 2Hz.  The various buttons don't do anything.

I've made sure that the USB is disconnected at the 'bot, and I've tried resetting the Arduino after it powers on with no luck,
so it doesn't appear to be a brownout/screen corruption thing.

I'm thinking it might be two issues:
1)  I used some random 5mm red and green LED's that I had around, and I know that
the machine looks for them on power up - they're the same form factor - could it just be missing the current draw on them?

2) I couldn't find a 16x4 LCD and went with a 20x4, which I thought was supported on the Jetty Firmware - is that the case,
or did I buy the wrong display?  The one I got is this:  http://www.newhavendisplay.com/nhd0420dzflybw-p-952.html
If so, does anybody know what model of LCD does work?

Cheers

Jamie

Power LED blinking shouldn't happen. Yes it does detect those LEDs,
and that might be the issue.
If lines 1 and 3 are filled with blocks, it won't be the power
corruption issue, that results in
line shifted, not blocks.

We can probably help you more over on the Jetty Forum at:

But from the sound of it, it appears that it's not detecting your LCD
(probably the LEDs), or
your LCD is bust.

What color LED's?  I know that someone tried using blue LED's to make it look nice -- but the Vf on the LED was too high and the Arduino was not detecting the LCD interface.

Hrmmmm...  They looked like normal Red and Green LED's, but the drawer they were in had some others that blinked
automatically - I'm beginning to suspect that I stuck those in by mistake since the power isn't supposed to blink.  I'll try
swapping them out and see if that fixes it

Thanks

Jamie
