Subject: 23 hour print... really?

So I have never messed with the rep-g settings but when I went to estimate
the time for *http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:30166*<http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:30166>it said 23 hours. Is everyone else who printed it taking 23 hours or did
they speed it up?

Doesnt look like a 23 hour print to me (compared to similar sized prints I
have done) but it really depends on your speeds, layer heights, and
infill...

23 hours is hard to imagine.  Also, looking at the model, it does not look
like you need very much detail, so you should be able to run a print at
lower resolution to get it even faster.

I printed it - perhaps 14 hours, with acceleration.  It's a big print - fills the Replicator print area! But very cool to have on the fridge.

1. what adhesive did you use to attach the magnets?

2. I look forward to the day when brushed stainless fridge doors will go
out of style. Boo, I say, boo to non-magnetic fridge doors! Just checked
with my fridge's co-owner, she says I'm not allowed to attach a powder
coated magnetically susceptible steel plate to the outside of our fridge.
Bummer!

Suggest you're considering using sheet metal screws as an alternative.
 That might change her mind...

Most stainless refrigerator manufacturers either use a stainless that is
magnetic or back it with a sheet of CR steel so magnets work.  Not all but
most.  And almost no "professional" versions, just the ones for homes.

Oh man, I'll feel dumb if I've just incorrectly assumed all this time it's
not magnetically susceptible... But I must have tested it. I always carry a
neodymium magnet around in my pocket; it's fun to test things. ZoeTheCat?
Not magnetic, mostly.

Not all types of stainless steel are non-magnetic, as well.
You've probably tested your fridge by now, but as a general rule don't
assume that stainless steel isn't magnetic.
