Does anybody know if the Moderation tab on a thing you've created is
supposed to do anything or how you can moderate comments that are in
violation of Thingiverses TOS?

Moderate provides a blank tab on edit thing.

I think that tab is only there for the site admins. The fact that the rest of us can see the tab at all is a bug, which I'm guessing was introduced when the feature was hastily added to deal with DMCA complaints, as it seemed to appear right after we all heard about Thingiverse receiving a takedown notice.

As for inappropriate comments, I believe that's what the "flag" button on posts is for.

Ditto for me when I use Safari, Firefox, or Opera: nothing useful.

I'd try sending an e-mail to sup...@makerbot.com if you don't
get results using the "flag" option on the comments themselves.

And yes, those comments should be taken down. (Someone(s) had too
much time on their hand and too much to imbibe/smoke.) May be cause
for removal of the account.

Flagging probably requires multiple hits to work - You might need some
helpers to get those comments taken down without contacting
thingiverse directly. Start clicking!

I'm not sure how the "moderate" settings work, either, jetty. And
that's lucky for me, because I had a few too many "adult beverages"
the other night, which I regret.

A far better way to take care of this would have been to ask me,
politely, to censor myself... and/or to remove my comments. Which I
could still do (I think). But only if you step up like a man, and ask
me politely.

What ever happened to the days when men were TRULY men?

Has the Internet turned us all into a bunch of whiny pussies?

Moderate that, if you will. Be a man, Jetty. Confront ME... don't
ask a billion other people how to get my "unsavory" comments to just
"go away". How do you people make it through life dealing with
problems this way? It's absurd to me.

Furthermore, my comments were not derogetory towards your design...
nor towards you. You need to learn to enjoy life, my friend. Sure, I
had a few too many beverages that night. But despite that, your
design made me almost overjoyed.

The fact that you would go to Google Groups (asking how to delete my
posts, instead of confronting me directly and asking me to delete my
posts voluntarily) lets me know exactly how much of a man you really
are.

Still, I'm a fair man and willing to remove me posts (if it's still
possible... and I think it is) if you reply to me in the CORRECT AND
MANLY FASHION. Otherwise, cry me a river of tears and keep reading
the TOS over and over. File a lawsuit. Be a the kind of whiny-ass
pussy that has DESTROYED our country, not the type of person who
nurtures the values with which this country was founded upon.

You did some GREAT work on the Gen-4 updates, and my intentions were
to CONGRATULATE you on your design. Perhaps that did not come across
correctly. Misunderstandings aside... I always confront those who
offend me FACE TO FACE. Because I'm a man. I'll take an ass-beating
before I do something like you did. I confront my offenders
directly. Otherwise, I'm no better than a whiny-ass, rumoring woman.

I figure we're even, as far as offensive actions. However... if you
want my posts deleted, you can either go through the red tape of
having them deleted by Bre and/or his employees, or you can simply ask
politely.

But my recommendation to you, from man to man (I assume I'm talking to
a man) is don't ever act like this again. Were you beat up as a
child? Do you have no self esteem? Come on, Jetty. Live life and
enjoy it. I DO!!!

Furthermore, I'd like to know how my comments were in "violation of
the TOS". I didn't memorize or print the Thingiverse TOS, as I'm sure
most people with real lives don't. I'm very successful at what I do
for a living, love living life, and love my hobbies (I have too many
to mention here, and switch from one to another each day it seems).
If you were so offended by my purely innocent (and hysterical, I might
add) comments, and you're too small of a person to ask me politely (or
even rudely) to retract my statements, then... well, you're a very
small person, despite your great accomplishments.

I am truly sorry that the world has gotten to this point. I truly
am. This type of thing is only the tip of the iceburg... but it's
exactly the type of situation that has brought us all down to where we
are now. And it will only get worse. I know that. And I wish you
all realized where it came from. Until we realize the source, there
is no solution.

You just did it again. Read your last two emails. You just personally
attacked somebody and I'm pretty sure offended every woman alive with
that generalization. I flagged your comments because they were
inappropriate and started to wander quickly from a congrats. Take the
high road, delete your comments and just say sorry for commenting
while drunk so we can get back this specific hobby. This thread is
putting a damper in it.

Luis is right. Please stop Mr. Campbell. I forgive you. But please
stop sir.

Blaming your behavior on alcohol, then being a dick about it isn't very "manly". You might want to sober up and rethink the way you deal with your own personal issues.
