hi,
yesterday i printed the Printruder II and it came out alright except
for the holes.
The holes for the filament and extruder are good, but the ones to
attach the motor are just a mess...
When i'm watching the print i assume the head is moving to fast...
Half the time it looks like the head only does half the circle...
(building from SD)

Are some of you printing nice snug holes at max speed? or do you
always have to reduce the speed?
I'm aiming for high quality builds - eventhough the object is perfect
to use - the little flaws bug the crap out of me ;)

What would you guys advise as a good 'slow' speed to make the ultimate
build?
Anyone perhaps know of a test object for holes?

Thanx
Peter

I've noticed something similar when printing lego blocks and my suspicion is that the new reversal stuff in the v2 firmware is causing issues. I haven't had time to verify that, though.

Dremel works wonders.

I found that killing the firmware goodness for ooze control and then
using oozebane to turn the extruder on waaaaay before it is needed
works. You end up with some extra material to clean up out of the
holes, but generally happy times.

I heard rumors that making square holes turns out to be far neater
than round ones.....haven't tested that theory though...

I have been making low poly holes that seem to be much less susceptible to over filling.
Octagonal holes up to a certain size seem to turn out round for me.
