I am curious, would anyone be interested in doing a Makerbot
Calibration Day in SF after Thanksgiving? I've seen a lot of custom
makerbots at NoiseBridge and I've recently upgraded mine with the z-
rider from two-times and Rob G's pololu stepper motor upgrade. Now my
bot is working better than ever but it could always use some fine
tuning. It got me thinking that maybe I'm not the only one that needs
to calibrate a custom bot and maybe the community would like to do it
too!

If there's interest in the City then I'll try to find a venue and we
can pipe people in over G+ or UStream to the event. I've always found
calibration to be long and tedious with my Cupcake Mk4 so having
others around would make it much better. Anyway, hope to hear some
interest.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving.

As always, noisebridge is open for these kinds of events.

I would love to be in on that - although I'm not sure if I can do
Friday. My 'bot is down with a busted heater wire,
and the replacement should be showing up on Wed. Assuming that
happens, I could be free Friday/Saturday/Sunday

I think this weekend is probably booked for most people. But maybe
the following weekend?

I love that NoiseBridge already offered up their space! That is pretty
cool. So maybe I'll try to arrange something and send out a notice.

Is anyone else interested? Even if you're remote?

Noisebridge might be a little messy this coming weekend, so consider
the following weekend seconded.

I'm probably going to flip the SUPER Cupcake back to stock so that it
can be used more easily (and maybe do the 5D conversion) and help with
that would be nice (and I might try a linear bearing and 8mm rod based
low-rider... And yet another Z wobble fixing attempt... but need to
focus!). But I can also teach people a super fast technique for dirty
calibration (95% calibrated in 1 print normally). Heck, by then the
successor to SUPER Cupcake might be doing some test prints. We shall
see.

Would be nice to see a few more machines there though!

I'd love to join if next weekend (Dec 3 - 4) ends up working.

The first Replication Calibration Saturday will be happening on the
3rd of Dec at Noisebridge!

It will be from 3pm till we get bored and go home.

Hopefully we will have visitors from the whole bay area and it will be
a bit of a bay area replicator meetup.

Thanks for setting this up! I'm sorry I dropped the ball on getting
this together guys. Should have figured having family in town would
soak up my time. I'll definitely try to be there!

Hey everyone, for various reasons I won't be able to get into the city
today. However, I still want to participate. So I'm thinking of
starting up a G+ Hangout and IRC chat around 3PM. Maybe we can make
this also a distributed event for others who can't make it to the city
either. Hope that works.

Check out: irc.freenode.net #mb-calibration
I'll post the hangout in there later.

Awww... Crap. I dropped offline for a few days and totally missed the
fun.
Hopefully this will be a regular thing as printing 20mm calibration
cubes by
myself is kinda lonely....
