One of the highlights of the conversation might have been the answers to 
"how do you name your files?"  (yes, there may have been a nerd or two in 
attendance).  We had some unique takes on naming, but there were also 
similarities.  Basically, we name files so that it's easy to sort them in 
the explorer/finder.  

There are some vastly different needs if you eliminate your file system 
completely.  Although I haven't been able to move towards a "plain text" 
system yet, it creates different constraints and opportunities.  Has anyone 
tried this or heard of it?  Here's a nice example of how it could be done:
