I was there, today, as well, getting a birding fix, after a summer up north of very little birding, during the doldrums, and was not surprised by the huge swarm of Tree Swallows at Biddeford Pool, having seen them, here, in previous years, reminiscent of mosquitoes on the Leaf River in northern Quebec.
HUGE numbers,,,,let me say..HUGE numbers of swallows. Pardon me, but I would get nauseous if I tried to count the the swarm of swallows. hundreds, likely thousands...like mosquitoes..GET IT!!! HUGE!
The Marbled Godwit was elusive, but Oystercatchers, Caspian Tern and Yellow-crowned Night Heron were cooperative. Photos all!
Nice to be back south, but, already back to the north. I am looking forward to hearing about the Audubon Pelagic...early reports are of good birds..family obligations precluded a 2016 trip.
