Covering over 15 party miles by foot during over 7 hours of our 8.5 hr day, we check lots of thickets and seasonal hotspots. Overall numbers were low as lack of snow cover and open inland waters continued to reduce normal seasonal concentrations of both landbirds and waterbirds at the coast.
Our 57 total species was only slight below average, augmented by an impressive roster (even for this always-productive territory) of “good birds.” In fact, the level of quality to quantity was pretty darn good.
