I can't say how many Cormorants moved today under cover of fog. However, late this afternoon the fog drew back into banks and improved visibility revealed many modest flocks of Cormorants headed Eastward With evening approaching a lot of them have elected to roost on ajacent Gull Rock. I estimate the flock now numbers between 5000 and 7000 birds and is still growing. That's easily the largest number which I've ever seen there. Tomorrow could see heavy migration up the Bay of Fundy.
