Allison and I counted at least 500 Common Mergansers between the Gardiner town landing and the South Gardiner/Richmond town line this afternoon. Also 13 Ring-necked Ducks, 5 Common Goldeneyes, and 4 Hooded Mergansers along same stretch.

Looking for Jeff's swallows I found a single Pie-billed Grebe at Gardiner landing. FOY
