to Maine birds
Yesterday (Easter Sunday):
CHIPPING SPARROWS were out in force for the first time in the neighborhood of East Franklin/Hog Bay.  Singing all over the place as we walked along the roads.
Female AMERICAN KESTREL was hopping from tree to tree around the blueberry fields off Rte. 200.
Later, driving up RTE 182 towards Cherryfield, there was a TURKEY VULTURE with wings spread wide open in the top of a bare tree, cormorant-style.
