Just got a report from a birder friend who was up on Beech Hill in Rockport this morning that "the only thing up there was crows and Bohemian Waxwings!"

Beech Hill Preserve, a stop on the Maine Birding Trail, is owned by Coastal Mountains Land Trust and is accessible by trails off Beech Hill Road and Rockville Street.

Ran into him coming down and am bummed to have missed the waxwings -- but, aside from crows and chickadees, I spied a pair of Pine Grosbeaks and a solitary Snow Bunting in flight up there this morning.

(Been small flocks of buntings, bluebirds, and a Northern Shrike at Beech Hill over the past week or so.)
