- Unread message counter isn't updated when working offline. - Composing in a separate window doesn't work when offline. Workaround: ⇧-click the "Compose Mail" link. - "Use secure connection" has been disabled (http is used). To use a secure connection (https), go to your Gmail settings and enable "Always use https" [image: Always use https] - In rare case the inbox doesn't load. Workaround: - Stop Mailplane - Open Finder and go to ~/Library/Application Support/Mailplane - Delete all *.cookies files (But do NOT delete Accounts.xml!) - Start Mailplane

Firefox is my default browser, when I click 'Please install >Gears<
and try again.' in Gmail settings, it opens Firefox and goes to add
the extension there.
Is that OK? Or do I need to temporarily make Safari my default
browser, so the click opens Safari and not Fox?

Hi Alan,
If you take the very latest build (956), installation should be possible
from within Mailplane -- no external browser is required. Mailplane will
open a separate window and after you agree to the Gears terms it'll download
the package (Window->Download Window).
If nothing helps, switching to Safari for the installation would be an
alternative.
