Are there recent changes in the MailChimp API (e.g. Content-type delivery, etc.)? Wordpress MailChimp from suddenly stopped working

Hello Guys,

I am a Wordpress developer and I am using Wordpress MailChimp
Framework (from Xavisys, and I downloaded it from your site at
http://apidocs.mailchimp.com/downloads/#wordpress)

Now, the setup has been running since January 1st, then all of the
sudden the Mailchimp framework suddenly stopped sending. The
"Everything's Chimpy" ping status does not appear as well, sometimes
it's NULL, sometimes it's garbage character (binary version of
Everything's Chimpy perhaps?). I am pretty sure I haven't touched any
code of the plugin, and a colleague having a totally different project
has experienced it as well.

Has there any recent changes in the API? I ask because I'm suspecting
that the content-type delivery has changed from text/json to
application/json, but I can't find any evidence or lead on this
suspicion. The wp_remote_post() Wordpress function is for some reason
not friendly with the application/json content type, and thus the
response is not parsed by Wordpress.

If this is the case, then I could just modify the plugin with the
exact change of the API. Now if only I could use some help to know
exactly what changed (and if there are other changes as well), that
would be great.

Regards,

Ardee

By the way, I think it's important to note that I have also done this
in a fresh wordpress installation, with a fresh copy of the Wordpress
Mailchimp Plug-in, and the initial Status is still NULL (instead of
Everything's Chimpy).

I am currently using the MailChimp v.1.3 API. The "change" seem to
have happened last Friday, February 11, 2011.

We have not, though you may have been seeing the issue described here:

Updating the wrapper + logging errors would help verify that.

Hello Jesse,

I have ditched the Wordpress MailChimp Framework (as the author of the
plug-in is not replying to my mails), and just used your updated PHP
MCAPI wrapper. So far it is working quite perfectly. Thanks!
