API call not subscribing members

I'm getting a return value of "True" but the email address isn't being
added to my list. At first when I determined it wasn't working, I
looked at the docs & added the datacenter, but I'm not sure how to
check to make sure I'm using the right datacenter or whether or not
that matters.

The datacenter does matter - it's appended to the end of your API Key.
