We've got a vendor who uses MS SQL to store transaction records for
their application. Getting at the data 'the vendor' way involves
logging on to the server, running the snap-in tool .. it's slow. And
there are license issues - only two users at a time. Which is 'ok'
for coding in the tool but less-than optimal if all you want to do is
look at error messages.
Hey - thinks I - I'm learning Ruby-Rails. I wonder if I could use
that to get at the data.
It looks as if magic_multi_connections would let me get at the SQL
database so I can yank out the transaction data and throw it onto a
browser. Problem solved! Before I plow into the docs .. will it?
