Hi!

I'm migrating a site from MF 1 to MF 2 and there's a few things I don't
get.

I have a section of the site that is called "About". I would like to
have a MF 2 sub page (child) in the about section that is called
"Team"*. How do I create that page with the correct permalink
(mysite.com/about/team)? And ultimately I'd like that page to show up as
a sub page/child under Pages in the admin pages (as it could in MF1)?

The first problem I had was placing the "Team" page right in the menu
hierarchy. It was simply solved by creating a Wordpress custom menu. But
even if the page now resides under "About" in the menu the permalink is
still wrong and so is the breadcrumb navigation. First I had to set
"Advanced Options/With front" to false so that the page wouldn't become
a sub page of the blog (my "News" page). I also had to set
"Hierarchical" to true or my breadcrumb navigation would still attach
the page to the blog. But it's still isn't right, now I've got the
permalink "mysite.com/team/team/" and the breadcrumb "Home/Team". Since
I have Hierarchical set to true I expect to be able to select the parent
page somewhere (right?).

I tried "Advanced Options/Rewrite" and "Rewrite Slug". This actually
made the permalink "mysite.com/about/team" work but all other pages
under "mysite.com/about" would suddenly be 404s. The breadcrum on the
page would still show "Home>Team".

How can I solve this and get the correct permalink and breadcrumb?

* Page hierarchy:
Home
News (blog)
About
-- Team
-- History
--- (more pages)

Hello!

Seems like I've solved this in a very round about way. Could you please clear up if there is an easier/correct way or maybe address this in the next release?

To solve the two most important issues, the placement of my MF 2 page in the site hierarchy and to get my breadcrumb right I did the following:

- I'm using Breadcrumb NavXT and I found out that probably since I've created a custom post type, that post type shows up in the plugin settings and I can decide the root for the page. This solved the breadcrumb problem but my permalink was still wrong.

- I installed the Permalink Modifier 1.0 plugin (there are two, I picked the newer one). That let me set a custom permalink structure for that specific MF 2 page. (I did this because if I set the "Advanced Options/Rewrite slug" in MF2, all other pages in the "About" section would stop working).

- Now  I can navigate to "about/team" and the team page would be there on the correct permalink but it's still wrong in the site menu. Adding the "Team" page from custom post type box in the menues page won't do it but adding it as a custom link (in the Custom Links box) works. I just add "/about/team" to the page structure and everything is golden.

The next thing I need to worry about is how the page will show up in a search.

Mikael
