Hello Gardeners,
I am excited to be planning our educational outreach for the 2012 gardening season. This year, CAC would like to organize gardener gatherings throughout the season that provide educational and networking opportunities for gardeners. I would like as much involvement and input from gardeners as I can get with this project. I am looking for these three things from our gardeners.
1) Topics, Subjects, and Themes for our gatherings (What you would like to learn about. Ex: engaging gardeners for group work days).
2) Educators, Experts, and Experienced gardeners to speak on community gardening topics. ex: effective communication techniques, lasagna gardening, in-plot composting, etc. (please send me your information as well as your area of expertise)
3) Hosts for the events. This could be your community garden or a location nearby. Indoor or outdoor would work, but showing off your garden is preferred! CAC will partner with you to organize set up, get the word out, and all other related tasks to hosting a garden gathering.
I believe that we have so much to learn from each other, and the newer community gardens in our area are lucky to be surrounded by many strong, successful models. Please contact me by email or phone if you are interested in getting involved, or just have some great ideas to share.

Subject: Re: {MACG} 2012 Gardener Gatherings -we need your help!
Michelle, I like to host classes at my home. I will be having an arborist give a class on grafting fruit trees in late March. Could you announce this to the group?
We will be using apples.
Don Samuelson has agreed to teach a fruit tree grafting class Sunday March 25 1-4 pm. He will bring root stock, scion wood, knives and other materials, and be prepared to discuss techniques for training and maintaining an espalier form using the espaliers in my yard as examples. I will offer some scion wood for apple varieties from my yard. Class is limited to 15. Cost will be $10 and will include two rootstocks. (There is a possibility of buying more, indicate if you are interested in a larger quantity.)
Please send me a check made out to Don Samuelson for $10 to hold your spot.
