Here is a way to help your community garden (and get in your required service hours, too) by learning and then teaching how to compost in your own plot to build good garden soil and reduce unwieldy garden plant piles. You can ask your Garden Committee to partially sponsor you if the $30 fee is too high for you. NOTE: There is a $10 late fee for any registrations after February 27th.

I've heard from Rick Eilertson from the City of Fitchburg that the $30
fee will be refunded if you volunteer to help lead 2+ composting
workshops for the city of Madison or Fitchburg.
