Off topic: Google Reader replacement

Sorry for the off-topic but I'm desperate and I thought y'all would be
a smart group to check in with. Anyone got any recommendations?
Preferably something that runs in a web browser?

When I left Google Reader, I switched to a local client.  Thunderbird was my go-to before I switched to Newsbeuter which is a cli rss reader with vim-style key-bindings.

Some others that keep coming up in my searches are Bloglines (which has an API, I believe) and FastLadder.  Both are web-based, I believe.  FastLadder is written in Ruby afaik.
