Hey Mad-Railers!

Do you want to advance your Rails skills? Would you take an evening Advanced Rails class? I see this as a class for people who have already written or worked on one Rails application, or have already taken the existing Madison College Rails class. We are proposing it be team taught be practicing Rails professionals.

If there is sufficient interest, I believe we can make a Fall 2012 class happen at Madison College. A decision has to be made in the next week though.

If you are interested, please respond to this thread, or just to me with answers to these questions:
  1. Do you want to take the class?
  2. Will you be able to register once we announce it?
  3. Would the Downtown Madison College location work for you?
  4. Would the Truax Madison College location work for you?
If this happens, I see it being a boon for our area Rails, and overall tech communities.

Thanks!
-Steve-

Steve,

I might be interested.  Depends on what night, etc.  Would prefer the downtown location, but could probably do either.

Hi mad-railers,

An advanced rails/ruby class would be definitely a plus for MATC and
the greater Madison area.

1-I will definitely take the class, or any class for that matter
offered by the legendary Stephen Anderson, even if it was a sewing
class. And I don't like sewing...

2-Yes I have an MATC student ID and I can register promptly and will
definitely do so.

3- Downtown campus is OK

4- Truax campus is OK also.

thanks for suggesting this Stephen A.

Hi Stephen,

I'm interested. I'd prefer the downtown location.

I'd be interested.  If announced a couple of months ahead of time, I can plan the trip with my family.  Either campus is fine, I'd be coming from Hudson.  Just one night?

I'm pretty sure we're talking about a once-a-week for an entire semester thing.

I'd be very interested. I took Stephens class at MATC.

I would do this if the times worked out

I'd also like to be apart of this and could attend either location.

I would love to be a part of this class, but is there even the possibility of having it at the West-side campus?

Otherwise, Downtown would be great.

Is this still a possibility or pretty much off the table for this
year?

Thanks!

It would be hard to add it at this point for fall. Rooms have to be scheduled far in advance. We are also starting our new degree in mobile development in the fall which has been taking a lot of my time this year. The first step is to design the curriculum with a small group of working pros and some teachers. Now that summer is here we can plan that. We'll keep the list posted on ur progress.
