Hello everyone,

I wanted to know if there were another way to import music onto your i phone 5 other than using I Tunes?
I have a friend that is a new I phone user and they own a windows computer. They also use jaws but have never used Itunes before. They wanted to transfer their music library to their i phone 5 but without having to use i tunes of course. so is there a way to do this or will they just have to learn how to use itunes?

rich text edit areas and VO?

 Hi all,
I am trying to fill out a form, and one part is some kind of rich text edit area. I can interact with it, but Voiceover does nothing - I cannot type, no commands like cmd-v seem to work, nothing. Is there a trick to using these edit controls? Thanks.

Have a great day,
Alex (msg sent from Mac Mini)

 Hi all,

I thought I'd report on Launch Bar's further development and support with voiceover. Voiceover will now speak items instead of depending on mac's spoken feedback. Here is the link and more details via the release notes.

[link]

Enjoy! I have been loving this app.

 Dear listers,

Does anyone know whether it's possible, and if so how, to do any of the following?

1. Create an active table of contents for a PDF that works with iBooks? That is, the PDF already has a table of contents, but it doesn't seem to work with iBooks. Anyway to fix this?

2. Create an eBook, either in ePub or PDF format, from several PDF files. I have a number of PDF books which are broken into several parts – e.g. a file for each chapter etcetera. If possible, I want to make these into one eBook file with a working table of contents.

I have Lion on my internal drive and "mountain Lion" on an external.
I can go to properties and my I Mac to start in either OS and it does.
My question is why can I not update my mountain Lion but can the Lion?

A simple answer is you can not on a external.
i will be purchasing Maverick. Should all Os's be on the internal drive?

Hi folks. Using safari, is there a way to have it ask you where you want things saved every time you click a download link on a web page, instead of files being saved at a specific location? I know that i e on the pc, and firefox for the pc used to do this, but I can find no option for this in safari. Do the mac versions of firefox or gooogle chrome offer this option? Thanks for any help.

Screen Brightness and VoiceOver

After contemplating the sad news that screen curtain does not conserve battery power, I decided today to try and lower my mid 2011 MacBook Air's screen brightneess in order to conserve battery power. I did this in the display pane of system preferences. When I tried adjusting the screen brightness slider, however, VoiceOver went a little bananas. The sound kept cutting in and out almost like VoiceOver was stuttering or on a really bad phone line. Then I lost VoiceOver sound completely. I navigated right and turned automatically adjust screen brightness back on, and VoiceOver returned to me. However, when I would navigate back to the brightness slider VoiceOver would begin stutterring again.

Hello, I have been playing with win8 in vmware fusion 5. With nvda everything works great but when i install jfw 14 demo (i have 13 myself) the braille does not work correctly, i think the speech does. While in nvda everything works fine. I dont think it is a driver issue because stuff does get displayed just not everything.

 Tim and All:
I think I've got it! Maybe.
Navigating on the right side of the screen is clearly one key. I was having trouble scrolling through the alphabet because if I didn't scroll in exactly a straight line I would end up somewhere else. Also, being able to choose the fields on the right side is very helpful.
