Hi! I'm sorry that I don't have an answer for you steeler59. I do have the same
question however. I have a new hp laptop with Vista Ultimate installed and want
to know if Homesite will install on this OS. Anyone have an idea or solution?

Thanks,
Bill

I don't have Vista so haven't been able to test this for myself, but I believe HS will run, but needs to be in XP compatibility mode.

There are several other threads on the forum that address this. Please see
them.

The short answer is that HomeSite *will* run fine in MS Vista, but you need to
set some options and permissions.

Hopefully we'll get a technote written up for it soon that we can refer to.

Check the other HomeSite/Vista threads. Some users have it working just fine. Others are having some problems.

to find the Homesite/Vista compatibility threads,
I only find 2 threads, this one, and another,
but so solution to make Homesite working under Vista doest not exist.
Is tehre somewhere a solution.
Homesite is the BEST (clean, customizable, suffisant).

Thanks for any help.
Pierre.

There is also a new technote published about it.

HomeSite compatibility on Windows Vista
http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402832

That thread, and others here offer a lot of info too, and in fact the technote
was written from what users are finding out.

Hopefully Adobe will actually do what Macromedia didn't and actually update
Homesite. I keep looking for a suitable replacement but nothing quite cuts it.
Version 3 (before Macromedia messed with it) was better.

Vista is not supported by many software's, i had lot of problems running
various software's with windows vista, and i just got back to my old XP version
and everything's working fine as usual and I would also recommend for you to
use XP instead of Vista

On my point of view Homesite 5.5 should work fine with vista.

Have you tested with vista though, did you have any problem with installation or etc.
