Convert PowerPoint to Flash

Hello all:
I am not sure how to convert my PowerPoint Presentation into Flash so that I
may put that Flash show into Dreamweaver. I am trying to figure out how I can
save my PowerPoint into Flash and how I can load that Flash presentation into
Dreamweaver so that when someone clicks onto the page, the presentation will
automatically begin. I also have a picture that I have rolling-over into
another picture in PowerPoint and I want this to be continuous. I have the
same thing in Flash but it does not run as smoothly as the one I have in
PowerPoint.

There are a bunch of dedicated 'Powerpoint to Flash' converters out there.

Just type "powerpoint to flash" into Google and check out the results, prices vary and some offer free trial periods.

or you could make a flash presentation (MX 2004 Pro only) and copy the content of each frame to each slide.

NOTE: Some products just turn the slides into bitmap images, others spit
into text and graphics (better results); some let you add slide transitions,
some none, some try to support the original slide transitions in your
presentation. Many tools offer things like adding narration. There are a
lot of differences in the size/quality of output, and the features in these
products.

So, which one would you recommend? I hear Articulate is about the best.

Hard to say .. depends on your needs and your budget. You can pay as much
money as you want, but if you just want translation of a simple presentation
to SWF, then most of the apps will do that for you. Its just how much you
want to lower your bank account. If you want more features, generally
you'll pay more ,but its not necessarily the case that the dearer products
are better .. they might just have an inflated price because they are
marketed for corporate executives and company or organisation wide
deployment.

Get those that have free trials and try them out. Find someone you know who
uses one of the products and see how it works and what they think of it.
You may find the many here in this forum will not use it, as they tend to be
Flash authors and would simply do the presentation in Flash in the first
place, and not need to convert it.

Good list from Jeckyl! Very informative. If you also do not want to look too
far and have the budget, you can also try Macromedia Breeze.

If you want everything to run smoothly, developing everything in Flash is a
good idea. The description of your project does not seem like it needs too
much actionscripting. As a beginner, a couple of days might be all you need to
do this using Flash alone.
