I found there was an even newer version of isscript - version 10 - which once
I found and installed meant the new 8 series of macromedia software installed
without any problems. Odd thing is how this happens on only one of a few
identically set up systems.
Anywho, it's sorted. Lastest version of isscript may be found at
http://support.installshield.com/kb/files/Q108322/ISScript10.zip
