Hi,
while integrating flash with a VB.NET or C# form, i'm facing issues with
transparency. I've set the 'wmode' parameter to 'transparent' but still the
flash's canvas shows when i run the form.

I'm having the flash 8 player installed on my sytem. Could that be an issue?

All help appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

wmode is buggy .. and it is tricky to make it work as an embedded OCX (even
excluding the bugs that it can introduce into the movie).

Hi!
Are there any news about this issue? I have tested the wmode="transparent" with vb.net 2005 and the Flash Player 9,
still no transparent player...

Is there any hope?

Greetings,
Stefan.

Are you trying to embed Flash into a winform? As far as I know (I could
be wrong), WMODE is for browsers.

Hello Daivd,
yes i use the flash player as a com compenent in a vb.net winform application.
The Component has a property called "wmode" which I can set to window, opaque
and transparent, but the component always stays opaque on the form.
When I try the same in Visual Basic 6 it simply works, so i guess it has to do
with wrapping the com class in .net.

Is there any solution for this?

Ach, that's frustrating.

Unfortnately, I've never embedded Flash into a winform. I'm afraid I
have no experience with your issue.

The best solution I have found so far is using http://www.f-in-box.com/
I haven't gotten to try it yet but one of the selling points is full
transparency support. The company makes a virtual file wrapper that I
love using called BoxedApp so I assume this works great as well.
