Sorry you're having a bad go of it. Do you have any kind of Virus
detection software running on that system? It is advised that you check
for the CIH virus before installing and then disable your Virus
detection software before installing. Go to:

for more information on this issue. Also, if you have problems with any
software you have downloaded and are trying out, feel free to contact
Release Software, as they write the wrapper that the sofware runs in and
support the trial versions. See:

Lastly, it is not uncommon to have various kinds of conflicts, from
profile corruption on NT machines to old DLLs installed by other
software that is not compatible with your OS and is not used by any
other software than Fireworks... which makes us look bad. When you get
the "Illegal Operation" click on the "details" button and get the
specific cause of the error. Please include that in your post to the
newsgroup so we can help you better.
