Hello - I am trying to load software from HP for a Laserjet 1100A. When
I insert the CD I get the following message in a box entitled *Director
Player 6.0* -

"This program requires 3MB of free virtual memory to run*

I have plenty of virtual memory on my computer. I have had at least 6
emails from HP support. They think it is something in my computer
setup. What is Director Player 6.0? Thanks for any help you can
provide -

I get the same message... It seems to relate to dual-processor machines.
When I run the player on a single processor machine there is no problem. Is
your PC dual processor?

How much total RAM is installed on your machine? (physical RAM +
Virtual Memory). If the total is over 1 GB, then that may be the
problem. Older applications often require less than 1 GB of total RAM
in order to run.

You can disable Virtual Memory to help lower your total memory.

Aaron - THANK YOU SO MUCH. This was the problem. My virtual memory was set
to 4000MB. As soon as I changed it to the recommended 200MB, the program
loaded fine. Thanks again for recognizing the problem.
