Did you find an answer? I also have SQL Server running on the same machine as CF. I have no idea how to set up a SQL Server datasource in CF administrator. It's so easy to set up an Access database.

Which version of CF are you running? I can help you setup your DSN.

Hi, I'm running CF Server 6.1 Professional. I'm actually trying to set up
FarCry CMS. In Step 2 of the instructions located at
http://farcry.daemon.com.au/go/documentation/installation/installation-guide it
makes it seem like it is so simple, but I got stuck. I was able to create a
blank databse, but not entirely sure if the permissions are set correctly. I
have very little experience with SQL server. I've used Enterprise Manager a few
times. Everything is running locally on the same machine. I'm running XP Pro
with SP 2. Thanks for your help. Regards, Brad

What I would do is create the datasource in ColdFusion using the sa login
information you setup when you installed SQL Server. That will avoind any
permissions issues. It appears the FarCry software has a script that will
create your tables. Give that a whirl and see what happens.
