The only recent OS 9 compatible DVD burning possibilities I recall
seeing recently to purchase are from heagap.com's online store.
Otherwise check out xlr8yourmac.com's database and ebay, amazon.com,
LEM swap, etc. At least xlr8yourmac.com's database has a very
extensive database. Also PC online part stores might have some deals

My G4 MDD already has two 250gbs so I don't need a SATA card. My G4
initially recognized the new HD and it's full format, but once I reformatted
I have not been able to find a way back off the 128gb sizing. I remember
reading a process a while back, something to do with pin position and first
formatting one way and then another to get back to the max. You'd think my

Yes, my MDD dual 1.0 already has two 250gb drives, and it initially
recoginized the new HD with about 305gb, but once I reformatted there has
been no way back. I'm usually pretty clever, but even trying to reformat in
a G5, booted on a CD in another G4, swapping master/slave/cs no luck.

--

Did you reformat it in the FW case? If so then it sounds like the FS
adapter card has the 128 Gb limit.

Can your G4 handle large drives, is it a later model QS or MDD?

--
Clark Martin
Redwood City, CA, USA
Macintosh / Internet Consulting

"I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway"

You're hitting the LBA limit. Getting a card such as one of the Sonnet
(S)ATA cards will allow you to overcome it, or simply keep it externally
as FireWire, which has no such limitation.

--
------------------------------ ------ personal: [link] --
Cameron Kaiser * Floodgap Systems * [link] * ckai...@floodgap.com

Help... I was going to do a clean HD swap in my G4, bought a 320gb
Maxtor, plugged it into a firewire external case, restarted the G4,
and saw that I would have the usual 95% of the 320gb or so to copy
to, so I was happy. Then, like a dummy, I figured I'd reformat it
just to be on the safe side before copying everything over. Now I
