SSHFS: Error code -36 (Mac 10.6.1)

My Setup:
* Mac OS X 10.6.1 Build 10B504
* MacFUSE 2.1.5 (Beta)
* Macfusion 2.0.3 (sshnodelay.so removed)

SFTP works for me on a local server (i.e. the method described above),
but not on other servers. Finder throws "Error code -36" (The Finder
can’t complete the operation because some data in “...” can’t be read
or written.). The error appears both for old and new connections.
I've checked with my admin and he says no additional parameters need
to be specified. The servers work just fine with any other SFTP client
(including ExpanDrive).
How could I pinpoint the source of this problem?
