cannot figure out how to use macfusion

for about two weeks with no luck.
I have installed macfuse 2.0 and macfusion 1.2 Beta 3 (1.1.268),
because I have tiger (OS 10.4.11). I have no idea where I am going
wrong. I have spent countless hours searching the web and the various
discussion groups, both for macfuse and for macfusion. Everything is
either too technical for me or cryptic. I am the exact opposite of a
techy, so if anyone could tell me, as if I were 4 years old, step by
step, what to do to get this combination to work (including where to
get the information I need to type it in to macfusion)? I am willing
to chat or talk on the phone if necessary. I really need to be able
to access my work computer (imac with leopard 10.5.8) from my laptop
(powerbook g4 with tiger) remotely when I go away for the holiday.
