Hello,

I would like to compute the kernel of a map between (quotient) modules.  I know of at least one element that is part of a minimal generating set of the kernel (from other means).  Is there a way to pass this information on to Macaulay2 to speed up the computation?

Thanks very much,

Frank

Hi Frank,

There is no automatic way to do so. Can you send an example? Perhaps with that, some idea might come to mind...
