Hi, I have a 1.25GHz eMac and the on switch has broken. I can start
it up by shorting the thin black and red wires, but I need a long term
solution. It's not worth buying a new switch, as it's not my main
computer. There are three wires, thin black ,thin red and thick
black. Could anyone tell me what each is ?

Hi,
Up for offer (if anyone would like it) is an Apple ADC-Connection 17" LCD ([link]).
It powers on and has a good image, although it has a slightly faulty connection at the adc-plug end. Sometimes requires some 'jiggling' to work properly - but is then fine once settled into place.

While this isn't a recommendation for a specific model, I would suggest that
you try burning disk one setting lower than the maximum rated speed (of
drive or meda, which ever is lowest) as burn errors are far more frequent
when running the drive or media closer to the maximum speed.

These are nice machines, and can run linux......... too far away for me,
and I already have adopted several old macs. I did give a 6400 away

Yes - I forgot to say - he's more interested in it not going to the tip - so it is going for free, if anyone wants it. Not sure that the Adobe software is going for free, but the machine/printer/monitor/scanne r/OS certainly are.
