Database Administrator/Oracle
Job Responsibilities: * Owns all aspects of data storage relating to
Oracle 10G RAC Databases. * Formulates and monitors policies and
procedures and standards relating to database management. Design,
Document and promote *Best Practices*, standards and protocols. *
Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the
performance, stability and reliability of the database. * Analyze and
provide technical leadership to Eclipse Engineering teams during the
design, development, and administration phases of projects involving
the database. * Responsible for manual/maintenance updates, Customer
Database Schema Upgrades and Schema Change Management to the databases
in Production, Development, QA, Staging & Test. Responsible for the
consistency of all such upgrades. * Responsible for writing ad-hoc
reports based on end-user requests. * Provide Advanced-level support
and troubleshooting, training Eclipse Product support staff. *
Evaluate tools and make recommendations to management. * Provide
backup support to other database Technical Support team members. *
Provide Proactive Monitoring of databases and automation of health
check. * Manage all aspects of Service requests using Sales force. *
Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications: Must have Bachelors or Masters Degree in
Computer Science, Engineering or related field with at least 5+ years
experience in the majority of the following environment: * Schema
design, Schema Change management, stored procedures and Application-
Software. * Oracle 9i, 10G & 11G on windows environment is a must. *
Oracle 10G RAC on windows 2003 server * Cluster, ASM, and RMAN is a
must. * PL/SQL expertise to help support Engineering & QA teams. *
Experience with Oracle replication (basic replication & materialized
view). * Data Mart, purging & Oracle Streams will be a plus. * Schema
Comparison & Baseline (Embarcadero Schema Manager). * Running Oracle
10G RAC in VM Ware/ Oracle VM environment. * High-level expertise in
Oracle RMAN backup using Backup Exec, Net backup & EM.
