Description: Our client is currently seeking a SENIOR CATEGORY MANAGER. Our client is a well establish CPG company with a "best in class" brand. The Senior Category Manager will lead and manage the analytics functions strategic direction and daily operations for channels and accounts. This person will have a thorough knowledge of company and customer strategies, provides direction on analysis and insights to deliver financial forecasts to internal and external customers. Identifies financial goals, tracks performance and reports on key metrics. Works closely with sales and planning teams, as well as vendors, customer and broker networks.   This job will have the following responsibilities: · Responsible for understanding Company and Customer strategic direction in order to provide data & insights to help achieve divisional and customer plan results through key metric reporting, forecasting and recommendations. Proactively Plans/shares insights with sales team. · Manage staff (direct & broker) in developing effective customer specific collaborative forecasts and presentations. Work with product planning management to ensure financial and demand planning forecast alignment. · Set analytics strategy for the Sales Team; Identify opportunities and make actionable, strategic recommendations. Set objectives for collaborative planning while measuring results against plan. Participate in customer meetings as needed. · Develop business reporting models to understand performance vs. sales and shipment goals. Proactive analysis of assortment and engagement of internal stake holder regarding the impact of product adds or deletions. · Identify timelines, goals and objectives for quarterly plan. Develop financial planning tools supporting the sales team plan development. Report on performance vs. plan. Provide period and quarterly financial projections based on recent trends. Drive consistency across financial & budget planning for channels & accounts including templates and categories. Reviews performance tracking and analysis of promotional performance including ROI. Align shipment plan with spend/expense plans for comprehensive view of channel/account performance. · Lead sales team technology initiatives-present and future. Manage data sources and develop technology platform to disseminate information. Oversee and manage linkage with operations, future phases and training. Lead team (and outside vendors) to efficiently create, build reports, and disseminate information. · Manage assigned staff. Hires, trains, coaches/develops, and manage employees performance including providing regular feedback. Communicate company policies and ensures a productive environment. Identify growth path and support acquiring the needed skill set.  Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience · 7+ years category management or similar industry experience, preferably with a cpg or retail company. · Proven ability to lead and develop staff. · Proven analytical skills and an aptitude for translating data into actionable, understandable analysis, reports and presentations. · Microsoft Office skills including but not limited to Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint; query writing skills for use in MSQuery, syndicated data, Qlickview, Access and Business Objects. · Strong understanding of category management principles, · Exposure to decision support data/tools Flexibility in work schedule is required including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as operational need may require.
