Has anyone else have/had a problem with the makerbot just freezing up during a build. It happened to me yesterday and perhaps once before. build was probably 80% done for a 67 minute build. looking at makerbot site right now and will report any resolutions to this.

It's happened to me when printing from the PC, but not from the SD card.

last night I was printing from a SD card. moved it to other makerbot and it did fine. from what I've read new firmware 6.2 addresses the problem.

Please describe the freeze some more.  Could it be the mechanics of the machine?

I was there watching (I was "next")
It was just printing away, think roughly 80%, and it just.... Stopped. No movement, no homing, nothing.
It responded to commands, although the"home" function was problematic
The platform rose to the top, then began to slew... The workpiece was still mounted, so it caused a head crash (no damage done, just noisy)
Afterwards, changed feed color and ran a new piece with no issues.

head does not travel. nozzles do not extrude. the only thing I noticed was the fan still on I didn't look at the temp of nozzle.

Does it seem like a mechanical or a software problem.  I will take a look at it on Tuesday night.

I'm pretty sure this was an anomaly. I was at the space yesterday
afternoon and had no problem with a 2.5 hour print.

I did clean the nozzles off, as they were caked with burnt ABS. And I
opened up the right extruder and cleaned out the drive gear. It was
caked with ground white ABS. Note: I did not examine or clean the left
extruder, so this might be a task that still needs to be done.

Another thing to note. Someone removed and subsequently lost the 2GB
SD card from that machine, and replaced it with a 256MB. If anyone has
seen this, please chime in. Since John was the one who accidentally
misplaced it, I've asked him to reorder a new 2GB. I'm not sure if the
anomaly was a hiccup caused by a lower speed rating on the SD, but
it's the only thing I can think of. By the description John gave me
yesterday, it's certainly a software hiccup of some sort and not
mechanical.

TL;DR There have been no subsequent print problems with the Makerbot
and a lost SD card is being replaced.
