LVL1 and DerbyCon 2.0

Hey Guys,

DerbyCon 2.0 is coming up September 28th - 30th.  There are going to be tons of great speakers at the event, and LVL1 is going to be back with the Hardware Hacking village.  We're going to help software hackers learn how to solder, and wreak some more mayhem with TV-B-Gone kits (among others!)  We'll also be showing off projects and running the 3D printer.  Also, I'm very happy to announce that we'll be hosting an Afterparty on Friday, September 28th, starting at 8pm. For those that can't make it out to DerbyCon, we'll bring some of DerbyCon back to LVL1.  We'll actually be in the schedule of events this year, so we should have a very good showing.  Everyone in the extended LVL1 community is invited to the afterparty, so please stop by!  We'll have plenty of food and drink available.  The event's already on the LVL1 calendar, so mark it on your own.

For this event, we've got space for 8 people to man the booth, help people learn to solder, and show off cool LVL1 projects.  Folks manning the booth can sneak off to interesting talks, but as everyone that helped out last year can attest, most of your time will be spent helping people solder and talking about LVL1.  The event runs from roughly 9am - 6pm, Friday - Sunday.  Anyone is welcome to volunteer, but since we have limited space, I'll be giving priority to dues-paying LVL1 members (sorry guys, come to the afterparty, though!).

I'd love to be in.  However, I'm on call for work.  So, there is a small chance that I will have to suddenly log into the company vpn and *totally ignore everyone* or that I will have to leave.  So, if there is space, put me down as an alternate or some such.

Brad, I missed the last one, but plan on being at this one  How does it work, do we take shifts at the LVL1 station, or all need to be there the whole time or what?

The way it worked last year:  Go to whatever talk you'd like to go to, but whenever you aren't in a talk, be at the LVL1 table to answer questions, show off projects, tell people about hackerspaces, and teach them how to solder.
